Hard lockup under Linux

Am getting a hard lockup whenever i approach the Cassini spacecraft in the latest Celestia. The lock is so severe that i have to hit the reset button on my machine.

Please provide more information like your OS, videocard, OpenGL info. But it sounds like the issue with your videocard/drivers rather then Celestia.

also please include WHO's Cassini add on this is
also start Celestia from bash and see if there is an error in the terminal output once Celestia crashes
