hi all,
i've got my system with Win 98 SE and SIS 6326 AGP display card with 8 MB RAM.
When i tried to run Celestia, as many has experienced, i too had it crashed with the following error,

CELESTIA caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0084:00000001.

As some of them here has advised to update their display drivers, i too had finished updating. But the problem still has not been solved.

Why does this happen? Is there any other bug fixes released???????
Should I wait for the next release? Will it be soon????? :(

Prams,

You don't say which version of Celestia is causing problems. If you haven't already, you might try the most recent "prerelease" for the next version (v1.3.0pre3). The new features aren't finished yet, but it has fixed some kinds of crashes. For details, see the thread http://63.224.48.65/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1968

I have Celestia 1.2.5, W2k, Radeon 9500 pro (3.1 drivers).

It crashes a few seconds after startup. It does not happen when I press ESC, but when I select the sun and press G it crashes when it comes closer :-(
I tried various OpenGL setting w/out success.

Seems to be somewhat unstable...

You should consider trying Celestia v1.3.0pre4. The vertex shaders were completely rewritten for v1.3 so they should work better on Radeon cards in many cases. See the thread http://63.224.48.65/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2062

Actually, you should now try 1.3.0pre5 instead of pre4:

got it !!!

There comes one more !!!!!!! Thanks chris :D. No crashing so far in "pre4" version at the startup. But the same error had once appeared when i played the Demo in pre4. i don't remember exactly when does this comes, but i'm sure that the demo follows the same path if you play in your system and you may too get the same error.

Anyways.....hope this has been already fixed in pre5 :)
