Install this addon and you will see it fine...

http://www.celestiaproject.net/celestia/files/ngc1999.zip

Yu will however have to uninstall the old addon by removing the stc file associated to it...I will make updates soon so that the new version takes advantage of the planetary system...

OR you could remove the nebula rendering in the ssc file for V380 and still retain the planetary system...removing the nebula reference will take away the nebulas double exposure you will see while exploring that system...

You will however have to change either the stc or dsc distance reference to match one or the other...I use 1500 ly distance...

Update: I used these specs for the stc file...

# V380 Ori
300005 {
RA 83.98
Dec -6.43
Distance 1499.5
SpectralType "A2Ia"
AppMag 10.5
}

and replaced the dsc distance with 1500 ly...There are variations on this distance but I believe that is correct...

There is a problem with putting objects too close to a nebula using the dsc format...it gets cut off at the center...a clipping occurs similar to being too close to a planets surface...so be leary of this I dont think thats a fixable glitch...

It works fine ...? It works great !

Thanks a million, Ras, it's really a good improvement for Celestia. Soon, we'll be able to see as Hubble see...

I've "discovered" something weird... One would better to keep the two plugins installed !

Since the two aren't exactly in same position, it gives an awfull depth to the nebula, looking very pretty...

Give it a shoot, you'll be as astonished as me.
