Celestia works fine, but
1) I have to report the following problem:
Earth in hires appears funky and weird: earth behaves like a mirror surface that reflects the surrounding desktop, is blocky, colors are completely altered (psychedelic). The other planets don't have this problem.

2) Can you tell me if it is possible to install other hi-res texture files and in which directory they belong?

Alex,

I'm afraid the problems you are seeing are due to limitations of your graphics card and bugs in Apple's current OpenGL drivers, rather than problems with the hires earth texture.
