When in fullscreen mode( with the top menubar hidden), pressing ALT-R-A-L (set render-ambient-low) for example doesn't work as the ALT-R just responds with an error beep.
If the menubar is first made visible by hovering the mouse at the top of the screen, then all works fine, however when it's hidden the ALT sequence fails to first make the menubar accessible as I would have expected.
v1.6.1, Windows 7, Intel HD 4000 graphics.

Re: Menu unavailable to keyboard shortcuts in fullscreen mod
As best I can tell, when running under Windows in full-screen mode with the menu bar invisible, the only Alt- command that works is Alt-Enter, which switches between full-screen and windowed mode.
Unfortunately, I doubt that this behavior will ever be changed. Celestia's current development effort is focused on the multi-platform Qt user interface. Right now, the primary focus is getting v1.7 to build correctly on all platforms with appropriate build environments. Once that's taken care of, hopefully Celestia's command interface will be worked on, including getting all the Alt-commands to work. The Qt keyboard interface is quite limited at the moment.

I take it that, other than what you just mentioned, this is pretty much the end of the road for Celestia?selden wrote:As best I can tell, when running under Windows in full-screen mode with the menu bar invisible, the only Alt- command that works is Alt-Enter, which switches between full-screen and windowed mode.

No, it's the beginning of a single lane road.PlutonianEmpire wrote:I take it that, other than what you just mentioned, this is pretty much the end of the road for Celestia?Selden wrote:Unfortunately, I doubt that this behavior will ever be changed.
