Hello,
If y use a virtual DDS map (say the 64k jestr one) and when I get very close to the ground (say less than 10 km) the labels are flickering.
If I pause Celestia there is no flickering but for some distances labels are visible and for some other distances they are not.
This does not happen with PNG virtual maps.
Unfortunately I have to use DDS virtual maps.
I have the very last graphics drivers (182.08) from Nvidia.
Is there a workaround for that?

I think that this has long been an issue with VT's.
If you'll notice, the ground also moves up and down a bit.

You probably already know this, but it's not just the ground, it's the whole planet that does that. A new meaning to the word "earthquake."BobHegwood wrote:jogad wrote:Hello,

The ground shaking thing happened in Microsoft Space Simulator too.

Re: Flickering labels
I really don't know what this flickering of labels is supposed to mean?
With the high-quality 64k VT's and 64k normalmaps in dds and dxt5nm format, respectively, that I did with my own texture tools (F-TexTools-2.0pre1, nmtools-2.0pre1), I cannot observe any flickering of location labels close to the Earth surface (1-10 km). They are just moving a bit, which is presumably a numerical accuracy issue.

Re: Flickering labels
Hello,
I need dds maps because I made close-ups that fit 64K Jestr Earth Mark II and I have to use the same format.
I had no problem so far, but now I would like to complete my close-ups with labels.
That is why I found this little bug
