Hi,
I have a serious Problem. The planets in celestia do not render correctly (see attachment). It looks like the different maps are detached from each other. The oval earth is also changing is shape by moving the camera around.
Also the galaxies do look a bit strange. I simply don't know what the problem is.

Here are my system specs:

Computer:
Computer Type ACPI-Uniprozessor-PC (Mobile)
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP3

Motherboard:
CPU Type Mobile AMD Sempron LV, 1800 MHz (9 x 200) 3000+
Motherboard Name Asus A6000U Series Notebook
Motherboard Chipset SiS M760GX, AMD Hammer
System Memory [ TRIAL VERSION ]
BIOS Type AMI (01/09/06)
Communication Port ECP-Druckeranschluss (LPT1)

Display:
Video Adapter SiS M760GX (32 MB)
Video Adapter SiS M760GX (32 MB)
3D Accelerator SiS 330 Mirage IGP

I hope that you can help me, because I really need Celestia on my Notebook.

Thot,

Your problems most likely are caused by bugs in the SIS graphics drivers. Try to get updated graphics drivers for your model of laptop from the Web site of the company that made your computer. They should be downloadable for free.

As a workaround, you should try disabling hardware graphics acceleration entirely. Microsoft's software drivers are slow, and won't show all the eye-candy, but usually work OK.

Hello

May be that your driver has trouble dealing with extra screen resolutions.
I see that your screen is set to 1024 x 768.
This is problably not the original resolution of your screen.
Try to restore the settings to the original resolution and see if it is better or not.
