No more galaxies in Pre7

I just put Celestia on my brand new system (with G4 TI440 128Mb)
and Pre7 does not show galaxies WHATSOEVER (even the default 2k
version). Earlier version this afternoon (125) DOES show galaxies.
Everything else works fine AND is quite spectacular with the G4.

Chris - do you know why I'm not getting galaxies?

Also - how do you set anti-aliasing with this card/driver.

Hope there's galaxies soon again.

There's no replacement for running Celestia on a new 2gb system
and the G4. It's almost a religious experience.

Vic,
Make sure when you saved the galaxies.dat that you changed the filename to galaxies.dat instead of galaxies_and_clusters.dat

Also make sure that when you save the galaxies.dat that it is formated correctly...Check this by opening it up in notepad...If it looks like a jumble of text try opening it up in a browser. select all and paste into notepad....save as and select all files...name it galaxies.dat and that should clear it up...

I think it the other way around, in Pre 7

when i first installed it, the galaxies where missing, and Galaxies.dat was fine.
But in the Celestia.CFG it was looking for galaxies_and_clusters.dat

so you can do one of two things...

1: rename the galaxie.dat to... Galaxies_and_clusters.dat.

or

2: open up Celestia.cfg (with notepad) and change Galaxies_and_clusters.dat to.... Galaxies.dat
