hellow again, i post the pics i take with my voodoo 3
they show some bugs with the eclipses shadows

Image

Image
the "mirror shadows"

Image
and the "axes shadows"
note that the shadows become invisible when zoom on the planet, and go darker when go out....

the fuzzy border of the planet didn't appeared on real time.. only on the shots...

another thing is that i can't see the city lights, and my card can do multi texturing , is this normal ???

and agan the city light, but with a matrox G450, with the latest drivers and this wersion, i can see the lits ( with previous drivers and version, i couldn't) but herrr.... they're kind of "inverted" : lights are blacks, and the part of the planet in the day is sort of "flashed" with a broght light....
I tried to invert the colors of the texture in photoshop ( lights become dark and blac become white).... it's almost ok, but... the ligths are far brighter in the day zone than in the night zone...... will try to make pics tomorow...

without nightlights

Image
with the nightlights enabled... weird huh ????

Image
there, i have "inverted" the texture using photoshop ( alt+i )...
don't know if it should look like that, but the lights are brighter on day side
( i was never able to see the nightlights before, and my voodoo 3 doesn't show them... :/ )

The 'axes' visible from the eclipse shadows are due to the fact that the Voodoo3 does not support setting a maximum mip map level for textures. I'll have a work around soon--in fact, there are enough annoying but easy to fix bugs that I may try and produce a 1.2.3 release of Celestia in a couple days. Do the axes appear when you run Celestia with a Matrox G540.

The inverted lights texture is just weird . . . I'll look into it, but I suspect that it's a bug in the Matrox driver. I also have an idea about why the lights still show up on the lit side of the planet . . . One thing you should do is try turning down the ambient light level (you can adjust it with { and } ).

ok, i'll try that tomorrow at work

for the shadows "axes" they don't appear with the G450.

and do you know why the night lights didn't appear with the voodoo 3 ? driver problem, card problem or program bug ???

thanks very much

i like wander between our planets... it's a real pleasure....

No inverted night lites here, but they are showing up on the day-side and night-side.
