This is not a Celestia bug but it is surely my system problem but maybe somebody has the same problem and can help me.

The problem is that I can not interact correctly with the OpenGL scene with my mouse. It looks like movements and rotations occur only in one direction do not matter how I move it. I have the same problem with other OpenGL software.

I tried update to the last video drivers but the problem is still there

This is my system:

OS : Vista 32 Ultimate
Video Card : Radeon xt1950
Catalist : 7.11 ( last version )

Hello tb14, what mouse are you using?
And how long do you use it?
I'm asking this because if it's an old generation mouse, i.e. the ones with ball and rollers, the rollers may be dirty and so one of them could be locked.
My little cent.

The mouse is a logitech optical cordless and it is working well on non OpenGl applications. I think the problem is releted with Vindows Vista - OpenGL or some driver isue.

This is the first report I've seen of this kind of Vista mouse problem. My guess would be a bug in Logitech's drivers. Try looking on Logitech's Web site for an update to them.

You might also consider purchasing an inexpensive wired mouse which needs no drivers. They're typically less than U.S. $10.

I had big problems with my Logitech MX518 optical (wired) mouse under Vista 64, but a couple months ago Logitech issued a new set of Vista drivers that solved any problem, and now it works flawlessly.
I suggest you to give a look at Logitech's downloads.

I changed the mouse with a simple wired Ps2 one and the problem is still there. So it is not the mouse or mouse but something related with Vista ?€“ OpenGL and my configuration

Don't know if it means anything or not, but my Vista Home Premium
setup has already had over 65 updates applied to it, so you may
wish to start there. Then, as has been mentioned, your display
drivers and specific hardware vendor may also have updates . If you
apply these, then you'll find even more Vista updates available. These
are generally specific to your hardware, and don't become available
until you have already updated from your hardware vendor.

In other words, if I check for Vista updates and find nothing, then
I update my PC via HP's site, suddenly there are all kinds of new
Vista updates available. Makes for a lot of fun trying to solve
problems.

At the end I solved my problem with some windows Update ... but do not know exactly with pach solved it.

I've just downloaded and installed celestia. The software comes up however, my system locks up as soon as I move my Logitech wireless / MX700 mouse.

The screen also displays bars of colors like the video driver is bad. Ctrl/Alt/Delete won't reboot the system. Turning off is the only way to recover.

Anyone else have issues with this mouse or have I missed something on the settings during install?

Ken, you don't say what OS you are using, but whatever it is I'm almost sure it's a matter of mouse or graphic card drivers.
I'm giving you some help if the problem is due to your mouse.
As you know it is a bit old (issued on 2002) so there are no drivers for Vista, but here

you'll find some information on where to find XP drivers, and how to use them for Vista too, that perhaps will help you.
Inform on results, please, and if the problem is not due to the mouse, tell us what is your graphic card and its drivers release.
