Can't toggle the fps readout on gtk

Before submitting a bug report to the tracker, I'd like to see if someone else can reproduce this one.

I can't toggle the fps readout (` key) under gtk-2.0 frontend. I am using a Spanish keyboard. The key is unresponsive.

It works fine on KDE.

Toti,

the ` key is working fine for me. I have just recompiled the latest CVS version. I use gtk2-2.8.10-50, the latest available version (smart updating under OpenSuSE 10.1). However, in many gtk applications (gimp, celestia-gtk,...) I get error/Warning outputs with this gtk version:

celestia-gtk:7609): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion `width >= -1' failed

Upon downgrading slightly, to gtk2-2.8.10-39.22, all gimp 2.2.14-1 errors are gone, but the celestia-gtk error remains.

But things seem to work fine, nevertheless.

Using gtk cvs version 11/16/2007, I get no errors or warnings and fps toggles fine. gtk version = 2.10.6-24.2x86_64 from Suse-Linux-10.2-Updates.
This worked fine on both the kde and gnome desktops.

Thanks. Now I see that the US keyboard layout works just fine...

Toti,

Don't know about the Spanish keyboard, but with my French keyboard, I have to press the spacebar just after having pressed the [`] key. This is also required to bring up the console with the [~] key...

Vincent,

Yes, in the Spanish keyboard it's also a deadkey used for the French/Catalan grave diacritic: in a text editor you usually have to press space in order to print it as an independent character. But in Celestia-KDE it just works with the first hit (as with the console key you mentioned). In GTK (in my system's Spanish layout at least) it doesn't work, no matter what you press afterwards.

What hapens if you press [Shift], then press [`], and release [Shift] BEFORE releasing [`] ?

Vincent,

That does not work either.
