Bug in mesh colors?

With latest CVS and the asteroid color redefinitions file (http://www.shatters.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10050) there's a strange color effect that seems to be a bug: set the maximum ambient light level and the time scale to 10000x and go to eg. Ida: the reddish color sweeps across the model as the ("absent") light illuminates it.

Can someone confirm this? It just can't be a problem caused by my hardware...
