Rectangular Star Clusters?

Post #1by Tharghana » 09.01.2008, 00:28

The Globular Cluster Generator makes Rectangular Star clusters. Dose anyone know why it dose this? I can find my clusters but they are in a rectangle, in stead of a sphere.

What Globular Cluster generator are you referring to?
Who is the author and where did you get it?

I think it??s Rassilon??s.But before we can improve the rendering of globular clusters,we need first a catalog, because I have M4 in my Celestia 1.5.0 pre5,but the program didn??t recognize if I type it.So we need a stc or ssc file,FIRST!
The only way to get to M4 is to select a star (PSR 1620B-26) and going far away from it to see the entire cluster...

Daniel,

Fridger is picking on your spelling.
*frowns at Fridger*

I'm not sure which catalog you're referring to.
I recall having several Messier catalog Addons, but they're Zip files.

If your system saves something as a .txt file, you can just rename it so it has the appropriate extension (.dsc). Windows will ask if you're sure you really want to do that. Tell it you do.

I just gave the program a try. While the distributions i was getting weren't square, they certainly weren't spherical, either.

Someone will have to write a better program, methinks.
