Corrupt Zip File

Post #1by wonderdog » 06.08.2007, 07:45

Apologies if this is in wrong forum.
Trying to download "Blue Marble Next Generation 64K VT PNG" by fightspit from the motherlode. All files download fine, except part 6. I have tried 3 times, once gave me an empty, 0kb file, the other two times tells me the zip file is corrupt.

I don't want to keep downloading to see if it works eventually as I have a monthly download limit. Is it somehow just me? Or is that file corrupt in itself?

Regards

If the filesize is 0kb, then you probably don't have to worry too much about your download limit :wink:, however I suggest you contact fightspit by private message and ask him to look into it.

Hi wonderdog,
I have no problem to download the level4-part6 , I verify the content of the zip file and it looks OK like the other zip files.

++++++++++++++++++++
With my super fast unlimited internet connection (ADSL2+ 24 Mbits) I can download at ~ 1.7 Mo/s in many server :wink: thanks to DownthemAll (an addon for Firefox).
++++++++++++++++++++

You have a montly download limit and that is why you can't download more ( I can't believe the addon is very heavy :wink: and probably the 128K is impossible for you :wink:)

Otherwise, t00fri is making a tool (available very soon I hope !) for generating a 64 VT with a lot of optimisation.

Freaky... as I PM you, you're posting here. cool.

Might monthly DL limit is a meaty 6 GIG, so the file size itself isn't such an issue. But repeatedly trying to download it is.

I'll give it another go, see what happens.

PS- I realise that in this day and age, 6GIG does not = meaty. :oops:

Certainly. The unpacked base BMNG file of earth is about 8GB ;-) . VT Tile sets are even bigger. Then you got to add normalmaps (another 8GB), specular files and nightlights ....

Incidentally, the required sizes can VERY easily be calculated without any computer...It's always good to do this first.

Just to prevent confusion:
"Blue Marble Next Generation 64K VT PNG" is no longer available.
