Earth orbit not quite right :(

Grant did discover that the rotational elements for the various satellites are referenced to Earth's ecliptic, not to that of the planet they're orbiting.

Only the rotational parameters of the planets are defined relative to the ecliptic - the planetary moons are defined relative to the equatorial plane of the parent planet.

Oops. Thanks for the correction. That does make a lot of sense to me. I'm not sure why I thought I'd read otherwise. I was probably skimming. I do recall thinking that was a very strange way to define them.

Sorry: I may be doing something wrong, but I still see Cassini 100,000 km away when using the xyz file in your link above. Your file above is dated October 16th, 2002. That's the one I've been using all along.

I just looked in your trajectories directory: maybe you meant to link to cassini2.xyz?
Your cassini2.xyz does seem OK!

Oops . . . You're right. I fixed this and renamed cassini2.xyz to cassini.xyz. Thanks for pointing this out.

Is there a quick way to get the 1.2.5 source code now ?
I really would like to continue to add some possibilities in celestia but I still have the 1.2.4 source code...
