Im using an 1600+ AMD proc on a Gigabyte pain board, with 256 Mb ram at 266, and a GForce II mx400 videocard.
On celestia 125pre7 when i add all the updates, sattelites, comets, stars, asteroids, and largh textures the program runs for about 10 - 15 seconds (i can do everithing in this time) and after that il collaps!, and i have to use the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys!
ps: all the updates worck just fine in celestia 124!

It sounds as though you might have messed up your solarsystem.ssc file. This will cause Celestia to crash. Try installing another copy of the barebones Celestia (read no add-ons) somewhere else on your drive on on another drive or partitian. Then go into the data folder and copy the solarsystem.ssc and paste it over the copy in the version that crashes and see if this gets you up and running. Also launch that new install to see if it is working as well. If it does you can experiment adding the additions one at a time until you find the one that kills Celestia. One other thing to consider is are your textures to big for the amount of memory you have on your video card. If your not using any .dds files but instead are using large .jpg or .pngs you might need to add the line Compresstexture true under those large textures in the aprpriate .ssc files.
Good Luck.

Past texture releases, Hmm let me think about it
Thanks for your understanding.
