No menu bar available

Hi I have just installed Celestia and am stunned by its beauty. I have a very nice machine to run it on, being a Dual Duo Core G5 with 4GB of RAM and the latest Tiger build.

However since I first started up the program and went into the preferences I no longer have access to the menubar. I looked in many places here online to search for OS X display problems but I find no answer. How do I get my menyu bar back of is it possible to open a prefs file where I can correct it?

the suggested control return or control enter key combo does not work. That only give me a search field to type a name of a body.

I'd be grateful for any help

The key combo for toggling full screen on OS X is Cmd+F. It is also available in the Display > Options menu (once you get your menubar back that is...)

You've probably noticed that in full screen, the context menu (right mouse click) is available - but Toggle Full Screen is not available there. Since the context menu is currently only available when an object is selected I'm undecided as to whether Toggle Full Screen belongs to the context menu. Anyway...

An unrelated question: Do you have a Core Duo (Intel), or a G5? If you have a Core Duo iMac (the model announced last week), would you be willing to test a Universal binary of Celestia that runs at full-speed on Intel cpus?

Hi Dirk,

Unfortunately I have a G5 double dual core and not the new iMac G5. I would have no problems testing the UB for you but since the G5 was bought just a month ago you will have to wait a little longer before the first Intel Mac will arrive here (probably a Macbook...)

Thanks for the command-F option!

By the way if the 'normal' commands would run in full screen mode one would be able to access the prefs by typing command [,] but it seems blocked when in full screen...

Sounds like a good idea. I'll investigate a fix.

I've committed a fix that will enable all panels that can be opened via keyboard shortcuts (Preferences, Set Time, Set Location, Favorites, Help, Browser) to be accessible in full screen mode. Expect 1.4.1 to contain this patch. :D
