I've installed a number of Celestia FT1.1 versions, each one with its specific .cel file: Mars- Jupiter- Monsters of the sky- The Space Conquest, The Orrery, etc.
One of them is "Fantasy Worlds", that uses textures and models from many authors, mainly Rassilon and Selden.
Well, with FT1.1 release Celestia doesn't find V380 Ori, the double star around which lies the V380 nebula (and obviously neither the V380 nebula). If I try with Search star ... it's not there.
If I ask "Goto", nothing happens.
Obviously I have copied the addon files that worked perfectly in the previous 1.3.2pre6 release.
I don't remember (this stuff is of some years ago) if something had to be modified in order to add this star to stars.dat.
Just to be sure that I didn't miss something, I'm dowloading again the full V380.ZIP (33.8 MB file, at 10 KB/sec- why it's not in Motherlode, instead of shatters.net?), but I'm almost sure this is not the way to find the solution.
Someone can help me? Rassilon, where are you?
Thanks a lot.
Bye
Andrea
Where V380 Ori has gone ?

Remember that most of Rassilon's Addons were created long before many of Celestia's new catalog features became available. Their installation instructions tell you to change files that get overwritten by new installations of Celestia, for example.
In particular, V380 includes a replacement starnames.dat whichincludes these additions:
300002:PSR1257
300003:ETA Car
300004:Thoros
300005:V380 Ori
With v1.3.1 and later versions of Celestia, you shoudn't touch starnames.dat. Instead, you should edit V380.STC so it looks like this:
(insert the quoted string "V380 Ori" after the HIP number and before the {.
You'll also have to rearrange V380's folders.
Create its own Addon folder, perhaps \extras\Addons\V380\
put the SSC and STC files into \extras\Addons\V380\
put the \textures\ and \models\ directories into \extras\Addons\V380\ also.
Then it should work.

Selden, you are Celestia's historic memory.
You are right, in a minute I changed the data as you told me, and now everything works OK.
Wonderful, I don't know how I can show you my appreciation, think that tomorrow morning I have a show for 45 school pupils, 10 years old, and the "Fantasy Worlds" had to be my introduction to more scientific things (the second show is "The Orrery", and the third one is "The Space Conquest"), so I was almost desperate.
You can understand how I feel happy now.
Thanks a lot Selden, for your precious help, your speed in bringing it, and the sense of quiet that you always give to our discussions, even the worst ones.
Bye
