1.2.5b3 low priority bug: object misdrawn

This problem is also seen in 1.2.4.

When one gets really close to an object and rotates around it, sometimes the object's image is only partially drawn.

This location (extracted from favorites.cel) is one such. The lower part of Dactyl is missing. As you rotate further, it disappears entirely.

(Comment: increasing the time to 1,000,000x can almost make one queasy as Ida rotates in the sky.)

The problem was first noticed on my system at home
(XP Pro SP1, 2x 500MHz P3, 256MB; Nvidia Ti4200, Detonator v30, 2xAGP)

I also see it on my system at work, which is rather different.
(NT4 SP6a, 1x 2GHz P4, 256MB; ATI RAGE graphic card, details below)

When I select the "favorites" entry defined as above, Ida is in the upper half of the display, partially obscured by Dactyl, and an oval (Dactyl) is visible across the middle of the display. The lowest ~1/5 of the screen shows the stellar background. It should not.

If I rotate "down" very slowly (i.e. hold down both left&right mouse buttons and pull the mouse toward me slowly [I don't use a wheel-mouse at work]) more and more of the the stars in the bottom part of the screen become obscured as the bottom edge of Dactyl's image extends downward. If I slowly push the mouse away (again holding down both buttons) Dactyl's image disappears from the bottom up until it finally is gone and Ida is fully visible.

This problem is present when only "planets" are being rendered and also when any other objects also are being rendered (selected in the View Options menu).
