Spacecraft and eclipses

I noticed a small rendering oddity (in the Mac version): Eclipses don't entirely affect the spacecraft models when they are eclipsed by a planet. The effect is odd-- some parts of the spacecraft will become much darker when in eclipse, other parts will change color slightly, and still others will be completely unaffected.

It's not much to complain about, but I'm curious as to why this is happening.

I dont think they do this for the windows version either
