Display Problems (spurious lines within orbits)

Post #1by jim ford » 06.10.2004, 10:48

Hi.

Firstly - and most importantly - thanks to the developers for producing a great piece of software (our Head of Physics considers it a most valuable teaching resource)!

We have installed Celestia on our laptop machines and on a desktop. The desktop machine works fine, but on the laptops 2 side of an equilateral triangle are displayed within each planet orbit, which considerably confuses the display. Is there any way we can work-around this problem - even by switching of the orbits display, please?

Our machine details are:

Desktop Machine: Running Win98. Display adaptor 'Diamond Speedstar A50' (SiS 6326 controller). This is the machine that's OK.

Laptops: Running Win 98. Display adaptor SiS 630/730.

We all live under the same sky, but we do not have the same horizon. (K. Adenauer)
The horizon of some people is a circle with the radius zero - and they call it their point of view. (A. Einstein)
