No solar system browser

Post #1by diederick76 » 08.09.2004, 13:00

Hi people,

I don't know if this is a bug or just some interface related thing, but I can't find my solar system browser. I believe it's supposed to be in the navigation menu, but it isn't. Do I have to set some options during compiling?

Specs:

Software:

Celestia 1.3.2
Linux 2.6.6
Qt 3.3.3
KDE 3.2.3
GNU C Library 2.3.3
GCC 3.3.3

Hardware:

Intel Pentium IV (2.6 Mhz)
512 MB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 4

I use a source based distro (crux), so I compiled everything myself. I installed everything in standard locations and configure and make did not report any errors, nor is there any mention of an error in the terminal window at runtime.

You might need to find celestiaui.rc in the package and put it here:
~/.kde/share/apps/celestia/celestiaui.rc

It corrupted on me, along with not adding the celestia-splash.jpg which causes a segfault on startup suprisingly.

Good luck
Ben

You may try to use the star browser, look for Sol and browse the solar system from there.
