Bug in virtual textures? Could just be me...!

Post #1by JackHiggins » 16.09.2003, 21:57

I get the following error:

Code: Select all

CELESTIA caused a divide error in module CELESTIA.EXE at 017f:004a4797.

This happens when I tried to change into "open gl vertex program" render settings, when close to the earth's surface. ( This ONLY happens when i'm close to the surface)

At the time, I had the following textures:

walton's 32k virtual tex,
8k nightmap
8k specmap
4k normalmap
2k cloudmap (All non-virtual)

Specs:
Celestia 1.3.1pre9
I can view all eye candy no bother except ring shadows onto planets
Pentium 4 (1.7GHz)
Windows 98SE
127MB RAM

I can view virtual textures on their own (no extra spec/night/normal etc maps) without any problems! I can also turn on full render settings at a large distance from the earth (geostationary distance or maybe a bit closer), zoom in, and they work fine. But it's only if i change WHILE closer than a few 1000 km, then the crash happens.

Any ideas...? :?

Thanks!

Oh, should have also said- I have never got this crash while viewing any other combination of relatively hi-res textures before. It's only happened since i tried combining walton's (fantastic!) 32k tiled texture with other 8k or so textures.
