weird eclipse shadow!

what do you make of this weird eclipse?

Windows 2000, onboard video (Intel 810 controller)

I have a i810 under Windows XP and I have the same bug.

This happens only with the Multitexture path, Basic path works fine.

How do I change between the two? I can't find any information on that topic.

This is from the Help->Controls in the Windows version:

Ctrl+V : Cycle between supported OpenGL render paths

It's a good idea to read through that list of controls to find any that you may not be aware of.
