Star system apparence

Post #1by AstroBoy » 02.07.2003, 18:14

Well I noticed a problem while looking at the new "HD 41004" system. When seen from a distance of ~40AU, the all planetary system disapear when the point of view approach the nearest star... I suspect that celestia can only display one stelar system at a time.
Why not making more than one avariable at the same time ?
It does mean too that if you add a star orbiting an other, it will never been saw from other star (even a very close one).

I knew this would be a problem eventually :)

Anyhow, I have a four day weekend ahead of me, so I'll fix this problem and many others.

That would be realy nice thank !!

Could you by the way try, if it's not too much work for you, make avariable a star class (like planet and moon) making a star orbit an other.
With the above bug fixed, we would be able to see binary star from earth... :D

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...

Now, seriously; summer is to enjoy nature and starry nights, so give a little spare time yourself. You are going to get ill of overwork... and we don't want that.

chris, this could be an alternative for your next 4-day summer week-end:

or perhaps two weeks? or better a month?

You already know, of course.

Yes, we've got year-round skiing and snowboarding in the Northwest--lots of glaciers around here. I'm actually going on vacation to St. John's, Newfoundland this week . . . Of course, I'll have my laptop with me for Celestia development :)
