Hi everyone,
I am new using celestia. I export the Iridium constellation to the celestia directory and then i travel to one of the satellites. Everything was fine but suddenly everything freezes. The same is happening with the GPS constellation and big models that are placed inside celestia. ISS alone is working fine but when working with Iridium or GPS it freezes also. I already test this in ATI 7500 cards and in Nvidia Geforce 2 & 4 and the problem remains. I test this with the same problems with the last two versions of celestia over win2000.
Anyone knows why this is happening? Solutions?
TIA
celestia is freezing
How long did you wait?
Was the disk activity light on?
How much memory does your system have?
What was its paging rate?
Celestia will seem to freeze when it suddenly has to load many textures or has to do many tests for objects obscuring stars.
Both of these things are likely to happen when your viewpoint changes and there suddenly are many satellites in the new field of view.
Might this be what was happening?

I bet this is the same bug that myself and others found with the ringworld add-on.

Turn the magnitude limit ([) all the way down and see if it still occurs.
Also, try deleting all but one of the sattelites (you will need to edit the ssc file) to see whether the bug is still there.
Later: Ive tested this with and without Chris's stable_sort fix. It is the same bug.
