Nebula "illumination" is either off or on.
When the limiting magnitude is 1.80 or less, no Nebulas are visible.
When the limiting magnitude is 2.00 or more, Nebulas are at their maximum brightness.
It'd be nice if their brigntness varied.

That looks like a good list!
Personally, I'd like to be able to specify a texture without having to edit the 3DS file, but I think that assumes a single texture for the whole object (like those used for planet surfaces). That's not so good for the general case where multiple textures may be needed for a complicated object.
