Help in File Start.cel Out of date.

Post #1by dave1235 » 03.08.2010, 23:15

At the end of the start.cel file that comes with the download, the link
# * Harald's Celestia page: (http://www.h-schmidt.net/celestia/) *
is dead.
On his webpage http://www.h-schmidt.net he does not link to it. I searched his website and there is nothing about celestia.

Dave,

Sorry: I don't see any sarcasm in John's response. He was just being truthful.
A dead site is one which has evaporated and is only available by using the Internet Archive's WayBack Machine at http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

The "official" descriptions of Celestia's Lua functions are in the Wikibook at
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Celestia#Scripting
but are incomplete. Somebody (perhaps you? anyone can edit the book) needs to go through them and make sure they say at least as much as is available on Harald's site.

Ok, sorry John, I was reasoning from the premise it was dead. I just clicked the very link that I posted and it was alive. Because it is a redirected link, my Google search of the http://www.h-schmidt.net site didn't turn up anything and so I was certain of its deadness.

Sorry again John and thanks for your time. Thanks also Seldon.

P.S. In my defense reread his post, in the alternate universe where the link is in fact dead, it is in fact very sarcastic.
