I've tried making a quality celestia movie on my 64 bit computer, but there's something wrong with some of the codecs.
The Microsoft RLE codec won't work at all: I get a "could not capture movie" error.
When I tried the Intel IYUV codec , It came out in distorted colors after conversion into WMV by windows movie maker:
And when I try to import a celestia movie with the "Cinepak codec by Radius" codec into windows movie maker, I get a error saying that it couldn't import because some sort of file was missing.
The system specs are: HP HDX16-1375DX Notebook PC, Intel Core2 Duo CPU P7550 @ 2.26 / 2.27 GH, 4 gb DDR2 RAM, 64 bit Vista, NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M Graphics w/1024 Shared video memory.

Re: Celestia Movie problems on 64 bit vista
My only suggestion is to use FRAPS instead of the celestia capture movie. It works better in my opinion and it's free.

I recommend downloading and using the DivX codec. It's working great for me on 64-bit Windows 7.

It also works great for any other OS that I am using (Win XP, Linux).

Sorry, do you have made a typos? You would say Xvid (www.xvid.org) because the Divx DECODER is free software, but the ENCODER instead is not free. Xvid is both free software.
Never at rest.
