The Earth doesn't know what time it is...

I'm using 1.4.1 and have my computer clock properly adjusted.

Celestia shows the right time in the upper right corner but, when I check the terminator over my location, sun down arrives about an hour and a half early...

What can I do?

Probably, because Earth is upset about what's going on these days...

Please do a screengrab from Celestia (using the F10 key) showing your problem and upload that image to this forum using the Upload Attachment form (which is in the "Reply" window, immediately below its "post a reply" section).

The issue has less to do with the position of the terminator, and more to do with the "timing" of the nightside lights. The problem was discussed in this thread.

So... Read the thread you recommended...

I didn't see any solution that I (being a very minor geek) could implement...

There is no solution, other than hopefully a fix being implemented in v1.6.

Gotcha...

That's why I offered a more "philosophical" explanation in the first place ;-)

Thinking about it...

Some of my addons won't work well in that environment...

Probably wait for a "terminator/night light" solution then see if the addons I need will work...

Thanks!

If you ever want to see it in action, I live in Germantown...
Maybe we could arrange a visit? Just a thought.

I've actually had 1.5.1 installed but my work now needs 1.4.1...

Germantown... Looks like only about ten miles from me, but I've got no transpo. now.

I'm at the Java Street Cafe in Kettering, Mon thru Thurs, 2-5 pm if you're ever mobile...

Do you do any real-time observing?

off hand why dose your work need a DEAD version of celestia

First, 1.4.1 is far from "dead"...

Second, certain addons I'm using specifically require 1.4.1
