Looking for image reprojection software that can do maps over 4K

Here you find pointers to utilities that help you create addons for Celestia.

Looking for image reprojection software that can do maps over 4K

Post #1by Shadow-Dragon-777 » 06.09.2022, 20:26

I am trying to make an 8K map of the sun based on SDO imagery and sadly the software reproject image that I have been using only does up to 4K. Does anyone know of any software that reprojects images into a map with a higher resolution than 4K?

Make a 4k map and scale it up to 8k with Paint/GIMP.
Crew: "We are orbiting a black hole."
Control Center: "Do not fly too close to the black hole!"
Crew: "OH OOPS..."

Celestia versions:
1.6.3, 1.7.0 sRGB, 1.6.1 ED (plain)

Current projects:
Celestial (a Celestia-like program written in Python)

No they're asking if there is a program that can reproject images of the Sun, so that they can be used to assemble together an 8k texture.
Been into Astronomy since the age of 3 or 4. Started making planetary textures back in late 2016. 3D animator who makes high quality animations in Cinema 4D. I find it funny that Nintendo officially called Boom Boom, a "mad lad" lol. Currently on the quest to find a piece of space music I only heard in one YT video (which unfortunately was deleted or made private).

1.) That texture is not in visible light, and a visible light texture of the sun is what Shadow-Dragon-777 is trying to make
2.) That texture is not even 8k, it's 4k (they lied to you about that texture's resolution)

They lie about a lot of texture resolutions on that site.
