Snowfall's Sphere Painter, a Blender plugin, was mentioned on the Discord; I'm posting it here for visibility. Now I have to figure out how to use it...

Celestia versions: 1.5.1, 1.6.1, 1.6.2, 1.7.0, and some unofficial versions like Celestia-ED

There seems to have been a recent change on DeviantArt so that only members can download files, so I'm attaching the Sphere Painter here.
