I worked on this for a bit and created a Celestia Star Builder using Visual Basic 2010.
I am not sure if it will work on other computers, but it has the basic principles needed.
How to:
Fill in the information, you still have to use the quote marks (" ") around the 'Star Name' and the 'Spectral Type'.
Once you press 'Build' you'll see this:
If you haven't already guessed, this information is 100% made up.
Once you get his, you have the option to edit it (I just did this screen because I wasn't 100% on how it would turn out if it saved automatically).
You then press 'File' and 'Save As', name your star and press 'Save'.
Once you run Celestia, your star should appear.
I've made a link in the 'Run' tab to open Celestia but it didn't seem to work. I kept it there so I can alter it if needed in the future.
Yes, some may call it pointless since it is the bare basics in Star making, but it may help for some beginners.
Let me know how it turns out.
Thanks,
Dryda

1° You can add the units for information.
You can add two optionnal parameters :
2° texture of the star
ex. : Texture "gstar.jpg"
3° let's choice between absolute ou apparent magnitude.
What I am thinking of doing is making a much more complex one giving the ability to create stars, planets and perhaps other things.
Then I'll add in the extra details, and make it actually look nicer!
Re: Celestia Star Builder
I would like an addon maker.
