Quick and dirty add-on for HD 110067

Post #1by ParticleGrasp » 02.12.2023, 15:45

Based on the paper, "A resonant sextuplet of sub-Neptunes around the bright star HD 110067" by Luque, Osborn, Leleu, Pallé et al is released on 30/11/2023 and information posted on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HD_110067

Code: Select all

# Statistics for HD11067 System, Stellar Class: K0V
# Stellar Habitable Zone: Venusian: 0.503 AU Terran: 0.614 AU Martian: 0.737 AU

"HD 110067"
{   RA               189.83959871
   Dec               20.02778778
   Distance         105.09
   SpectralType      "K0V"
   AppMag            8.43
   Radius             548060.3040
}

It should be noted that the atmospheric info is purely speculative. Also the code uses the default texture of "exo-class1.jpg".

I caught an error for planet c. The planet radius was erroneously in km, not earth radii. This impacted the atmosphere height parameter as well since my script uses a fraction of the planet radius as a rough estimate of atmospheric height. I am working on updating that as well.

The scc code has been updated.

Hey there! If you don't mind I would like to point out a couple things to help contribute to your addon.

Firstly, the c and d planets share the same orbit (it looks like the c planet was given the same semi-major axis as d).

Secondly -- and arguably much less importantly -- the orientation of the system does not produce a transiting configuration. I've attached a screenshot of your addon (with orbits in green) compared to an orientation that has them transit from Earth at the detected transit times. I don't know if this is something you were wanting to adjust given the "quick and dirty" nature of the addon.

Altogether though awesome work!

Thanks for taking the time to catch my errors, Sirius_Alpha. It seems my code was a lot more dirty than it was quick.
The ssc has been updated to include your contributions.
Cheers.
