Time for something new, and for me to release some kind of new addon, so time to add some Star War ships that where never made into addons years ago that are on the Celestia Motherlode. Note: the ships are models that were converted from their original files types posted to the Model's Resource as I have no modeling skills nor know another place to source models like this. These models also aren't the most detail and can hopefully get updated to better models at some point.

So here is the first of the ships to be added, the ARC-170 Starfighter common to the Clone Wars era battles.

Bogano

Bogano is the first fully explorable planet presented in Jedi: Fallen Order. Temporary home of Jedi Master Eno Cordova, its is the place where Cal Kestis meets the ever iconic BD-1. This addon is a full reconstruction of the Bogano system, from the orbits of the planet to the classes of the stars within using screenshots and recordings from JFO as well as concept art featured on Gabriel Yeganyan's ArtStation and in the "Art of Jedi: Fallen Order" book released by Respawn

Bogano is a unique world in of itself. It's a world riddled with sinkholes and underground caverns from severe erosion, which, to me, shows that the planet is probably geologically dead. Its covered in grassy plains, plateaus and some wet marshland in some ravines and valleys. The planet is home to sever unique lifeforms such as the adorable Boglings and the ever annoying Oggdo. The planet seems to be an Earth analogue, as with a lot of planets in Star Wars, so it has the same size and mass as Earth

Onto the stars. Bogano circumtriniarily orbits three stars, a unique feature of this system. The primary star, which I have named Tunalah (Center star in the image below) is classified as a K2 due to its light-yellow orange as seen in concept art and in game. Ollast (right most star) is classified as a K6 thanks to its much deeper orange and finally Ciplia (left most in lower image) is classified as an M5, its the only one out of the three that does make an in-game appearance but I added it in regardless.

The names of the stars are meaningless since i didn't want them to be just Bogano A, B, and C respectively, though they still use those designations

The addon has two downloads: a hires (4096 x 2048) one for those who want better looking textures and a medres (2048 x 1024) one for those who dont want this to take up alot of space

The Ebon Hawk is a Dynamic-class freighter and smuggler ship that was both owned by Darth Revan and later Meetra Surik, almost 4000 years before the Battle of Yavin. It is primary setting of the 2003 game Knights of the Old Republic and its sequel The Sith Lords. This addon places the Ebon Hawk in orbit above Tatooine, which according to the first game is one of four planets where the map to the location of the Star Forge can be found

A Sith Interdictor is a 600-m long battle cruiser that was used by the Revanite Sith Empire on its conquest to destroy the Old Republic about 4000 years before the Battle of Yavin. The most infamous Interdictor, the Leviathan, is the personal flagship of Darth Malak in the 2003 game Knights of the Old Republic. This addon places the Leviathan in orbit above Coruscant

Originally posted on Discord, I've been working on a proper Star Wars Galaxy for Celestia since August 2023. This is based from Quarior's Star Wars catalog for SpaceEngine. I'm experimenting on whether the galaxy should look like a Milky Way clone or an Sa or SBc-type galaxy instead (images below)

Luckily, there's a lot of similarities between Celestia's STC/DSC code and SpaceEngine's SC code, so porting basic info onto Celestia itself is a little bit easier than anticipated. Though, there's still a lot of work to do as some stars aren't even positioned well enough to the supposed galactic plane.


This aims to eventually replace Jestr's Star, which is specifically made as a "temporary" placeholder star for all existing Star Wars addons so far. In addition, it will serve as a spiritual successor to TheShadow1138's Star Wars Galaxy (2010) add-on, which placed all systems to the Triangulum Galaxy due to limited stellar distances that was allowed in older versions of Celestia at the time

Star Wars Galaxy (2024)
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away

This add-on provides a catalog of stars, planets and clusters known to exist in the Star Wars universe, both Legends and Disney Canon alike! The galaxy itself is positioned about 923 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation Pegasus


Base code is adapted from Quarior's Star Wars Catalogs for SpaceEngine, which in turn mostly based on Jason Fry's 2009 book, Star Wars: The Essential Atlas. Thanks to SevenSpheres for helping me align the Galaxy correctly for the star catalogs to use

This serves as a spiritual successor to TheShadow1138's Star Wars Atlas add-on originally published in 2010 that placed the systems within the Triangulum Galaxy

NOTES
- Due to the vast distances it was positioned, this add-on only works on Celestia 1.7.0 and above
- Most of the stars you see in this galaxy are not clickable. These are meant only as background eyecandy to make the galaxy more alive whenever visiting worlds. Credits to cubicApocalypse and LukeCEL for allowing me to include the spiral-galaxy2.cmod model from their M83 Worldbuilding Project
- Type the name of a particular star system in order to navigate as clicking specific stars are near impossible due to their vast distances between them
- All planets use default textures to allow other add-on developers make their own custom maps, similar to what Project Sisyphus is doing to the TTEC with real exoplanets
- As of 2024-Feb-24, around 331 star systems are included, of which only 37 have planets (see the ReadMe.txt file for more details). More star systems will be added to our collection in the near future

Made some changes to the default catalog that allows both Alderaan and Death Star add-ons to still fully work as standalone mods, i.e. Alderaan will only explode IF AND ONLY IF the Death Star is installed. The second Death Star began construction shortly after its predecessor was destroyed in the Battle of Yavin. It was discovered by the Rebel Alliance hovering above the forest moon of Endor seemingly incomplete, but is secretly fully operational already. Despite this, they've managed to destroy it in the subsequent battle in 4 ABY shortly after the deaths of the Emperor and Darth Vader themselves

This add-on is a heavily modified version of the DS2 model found in Frank Gregorio's Activity 10 - The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence add-on, which previously had a problem of having its entire hull being defined as a "cloud". Now it is realized as a full-fledged 3D model

Uploaded the third edition of the Star Wars Galaxy on its original post. Added 4 individual star systems and around 12 existing stars have been added with planets (see readme.txt file for details). Also updated ssc files for Mustafar and Geonosis, adding more planets previously not included on earlier releases

The ARC-170 starfighter has been updated to make use of the Star Wars Galaxy addon (and to orbit Courscant).

The Razor Crest was the personal flagship of Din Djarin (a.k.a. The Mandalorian) during the early years of the New Republic. He used it throughout the search for the Force-sensitive child named Grogu, and continued to use it on the quest to find Grogu's species in 9 ABY. It was destroyed by Moff Gideon on Tython while visiting the ruins of an ancient Jedi temple there

This addon depicts the Razor Crest in orbit above Tatooine. The original GLB model was retrieved from SketchFab, which I converted into CMOD for use in Celestia. Credits to the original author written down below.

what is this parameter : Distance<pc ?
It's a specific new parameter to Celestia 1.7 ?
What does it correspond to ? Distance in Parsec ?

Units have actually been in the codebase for over a decade, I think...
