Is it normal that the antenna does not rotate with the body?

Uploaded a patch fixing the issue in the Beginning date, thanks!

gironde wrote:Is it normal that the antenna does not rotate with the body?
Yes! This is a feature from the early satellites designed by Hughes and Boeing that uses spin-stabilization for guidance. The antenna itself spins in the opposite direction from its body to maintain direct contact with Earth (NASA's Galileo also has this feature btw).

KuiperSat satellites are like Starlink and Oneweb. Project Kuiper was initiated by Jeff Bezos, who already owns Amazon and Blue Origin.
After launching two test satellites in 2023, he had to wait for the validation of the new launchers. On April 28, 2025, 27 KuiperSat satellites were launched into orbit by an Atlas V 551 rocket.
Since little information has been released, the model is that of Oneweb, which, according to the web, is very similar.

Juno (2025)

Post #290by SpaceExplorer » 29.06.2025, 00:12

Juno add-on update. XYZV trajectory has been extended to October 2028 with new HORIZONS data, suggesting a possible mission extension, provided it survives proposed budget cuts and radiation belts.
Juno's orbit continues to evolve and is now approaching the inner satellites orbits. Notable is a Amalthea flyby that occurs on 2028-Jan-10, at a distance of 3,629 km.

NOTE: For more accurate moon flybys, install the Galilean Satellites (1995-2036) addon or if you prefer the Shadow-Dragon VTs (Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto) now uploaded to mobi. Choose only one option to avoid potential conflicts.
XYZV trajectories for Amalthea are also available here for more accurate Juno flyby in January 2028.

Amalthea flyby at 2028-Jan-10. But it's unlikely that JunoCam will remain operational until then...

detail_image_12.jpg
MetOp is a series of weather satellites operated in polar low Earth orbit by the European Space Agency as part of the EUMETSAT program. The first-generation fleet were launched three times between 2006 and 2018, complementing weather and climate data gathered by the American NOAA/POES fleet. As of 2025, only two of the first three satellites remain active.

Orbital data for all three satellites were retrieved from CelesTrak.
