Is it normal that the antenna does not rotate with the body?

Uploaded a patch fixing the issue in the Beginning date, thanks!

gironde wrote:Is it normal that the antenna does not rotate with the body?
Yes! This is a feature from the early satellites designed by Hughes and Boeing that uses spin-stabilization for guidance. The antenna itself spins in the opposite direction from its body to maintain direct contact with Earth (NASA's Galileo also has this feature btw).

KuiperSat satellites are like Starlink and Oneweb. Project Kuiper was initiated by Jeff Bezos, who already owns Amazon and Blue Origin.
After launching two test satellites in 2023, he had to wait for the validation of the new launchers. On April 28, 2025, 27 KuiperSat satellites were launched into orbit by an Atlas V 551 rocket.
Since little information has been released, the model is that of Oneweb, which, according to the web, is very similar.

Juno (2025)

Post #290by SpaceExplorer » 29.06.2025, 00:12

Juno add-on update. XYZV trajectory has been extended to October 2028 with new HORIZONS data, suggesting a possible mission extension, provided it survives proposed budget cuts and radiation belts.
Juno's orbit continues to evolve and is now approaching the inner satellites orbits. Notable is a Amalthea flyby that occurs on 2028-Jan-10, at a distance of 3,629 km.

NOTE: For more accurate moon flybys, install the Galilean Satellites (1995-2036) addon or if you prefer the VTs (Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto) now uploaded to mobi. Choose only one option to avoid potential conflicts.
XYZV trajectories for Amalthea are also available here for more accurate Juno flyby in January 2028.

MetOp-A to C

detail_image_12.jpg
MetOp is a series of weather satellites operated in polar low Earth orbit by the European Space Agency as part of the EUMETSAT program. The first-generation fleet were launched three times between 2006 and 2018, complementing weather and climate data gathered by the American NOAA/POES fleet. As of 2025, only two of the first three satellites remain active.

Orbital data for all three satellites were retrieved from CelesTrak.

Nancy-Grace-Roman Telescope = WFIRST
Toutatis worked on this project in 2018. If it helps, I still have those models.

That would be lovely! The XYZV trajectory data for it is complete a few weeks ago, and only the model is currently missing

Thanks. Seems like there's a lot from WFIRST has been significantly changed in the years since 2018, when it eventually became NGRST. Haven't textured this yet, but here's what I have so far on the new model

GLONASS-M

Post #298by DaveBowman2001 » 17.07.2025, 03:33

cover_image.jpg
GLONASS, also known as Uragan, is the Soviet/Russian equivalent to the American Global Positioning System (GPS). Its constellation of 146 satellites provide Russia and its allies with high-precision geodesic navigation without relying much on GPS and Galileo satellites. The second-generation GLONASS-M fleet launched a total of 52 satellites between 2001 and 2022.

Untitled.jpg
The active (GREEN) and derelict (RED) satellites of the GLONASS-M fleet

This add-on adds 46 out of 52 satellites of the GLONASS-M fleet (21 active, 25 derelict) not including six that were lost in launch failures. Serves as an update to the SSC add-on of the same name by gironde. Original 3D model by tashtego

DaveBowman2001, for Glonass-M

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GLONASS-M

in paragraphe 'History', it is explained:
"On December 1, 2001, a first generation GLONASS satellite Kosmos 2382 with new flight control and
power systems was launched. This satellite was incorrectly named Uragan-M in a RIA Novosti news
message issued days before the launch. When contacted by Novosti Kosmonavtiki magazine Roscosmos
spokesman said all three launched satellites were first generation versions but one of them featured
new upgraded flight control and power systems.[14] Novosti Kosmonavtiki also pointed out the fact
that GLONASS-M project had been approved on August 20, 2001, just three months before Kosmos 2382 launch.
RIA Novosti mistake was widely propagated causing confusion regarding which satellite was the first GLONASS-M satellite."

we could call it:
"Cosmos 2382:Glonass-M-700:Uragan-M0:2001-053A" "Sol/Earth"

and build it like the other Glonass-M (models, textures, format of ssc)

Updated the GLONASS-M add-on above, and included Cosmos 2382 on the catalog.

gironde wrote:we could call it:

According to Gunter D. Krebs, its numerical designation is GLONASS M-711, possibly a prototype of the subsequent second generation fleet as it is still not fully verified whether it is a modified Uragan (Block III) satellite of the older first-generation fleet instead
