Project SolarNice - building the past and future of the solar system
This project is named after the Nice model, a model simulating the history of out solar sys.
The goal of this project:
Making timelines for each planet, moon, dwarf planet, and the sun from the sun's birth (~5 billion years ago) to the end (~10 billion years from now), 1000 Celestia years = 1 billion simulation years, starting at (Cel. time) -3000 Jan 01, so the current real-life date is near the current simulation date.
With other words:
Cel. time = Celestia time: The time (UTC) that Celestia shows in the upper-right corner
Sim. time = Simulation time: The time that SolarNice simulates at the corresponding Cel. time (see "table" above)

Code: Select all
Cel. time Simulated (SolarNice) time
-3000: 5.0 bya (project's start)
-2500: 4.5 bya (billion years ago)
-1500: 3.5 bya
-500: 2.5 bya
500: 1.5 bya
1500: 0.5 bya
2000: 0.0 byfn (billion years from now, now = 2000)
2500: 0.5 byfn
3500: 1.5 byfn
4500: 2.5 byfn
5500: 3.5 byfn
6500: 4.5 byfn
7500: 5.5 byfn
8500: 6.5 byfn
9500: 7.5 byfn
10500: 8.5 byfn
11500: 9.5 byfn
12000: 10.0 byfn (project's end)
E.g. if you set Celestia's time to 2500, SolarNice should show the solar sys as it will be in 0.5 billion years from now
