Trolligi's addons

Post #1by Trolligi 112477 » 27.07.2020, 12:22

This page documents all my other addons, which will be for real-life objects.

So far I have made:
WR 2, a very evolved, small and hot Wolf-Rayet star, with a temperature of 141000 K. (Celestia reads it as 50000 K because it doesn't know about hot WR stars)
Also WR 2.png

Cha 110913-773444, a free-floating planetary mass object, likely a sub-brown-dwarf. It has a protoplanetary disk.

All of my addons (including my Project Sisyphus addons) are CC-BY, so you can do whatever you want with them, even use them commercially, just give me credit.

the Cha 110913-773444 disk looks beautiful! Could you consider perhaps adding the Chamaeleon complex nebula around the planets? I hear that there are multiple sub-brown dwarfs nearby.

I've made 3 more wolf-rayet stars (Because I'm obsessed with em rn)
They are WR 1, WR 3 and WR 93b. WR 1 and WR 3 are hydrogen-free WN stars, while WR 93b is a WO star. Their temperatures are 112200, 89100 and 160000 Kelvins respectively.

Note: I have also made a new version of WR 2, it is much bluer, although if you're a realism kind of guy you might prefer the old version.

oh also, I made up WR 93b's absmag based on WR 142's absmag (when it was thought that WR 142 was half its actual size)

when that wolf rayet dies, what would happen to the O star

My second version of the Galactic Wolf-Rayet stars addon. Adds WR 5, WR 6, WR 36, WR 37, WR 48a A, WR 48a B, WR 102, WR 103, WR 110, WR 124-22, WR 152 and WR 154. Gamma Velorum is edited, so it's actually a binary. WR 1, WR 2, WR 3 and WR 93b are all in this version, and the Galactic WR addon will not be cumulative.

I created this small addon, and I only used 2 hours for it lol. It adds the planetary nebula NGC 4361 (using 4 of Luke's nebula models), along with its central star, which is notable for being incredibly hot (270,000 K). I hope you enjoy this addon. lol

Spoiler
this was not just an addon, but also a speedrun

This .stc file (contained in the .zip file) adds 10 WC stars (with parameters, of course) to the Large Magellanic Cloud. 7 of them are WC4 stars (one being in a binary) and 3 of them are WC5s.

As I find more and more science papers, expect an update to this soon.

This is my third version of the Galactic Wolf-Rayet stars addon. It adds many new stars, which are WR 8, WR 9 A, WR 9 B, WR 10, WR 12, WR 13, WR 14, WR 15, WR 16, WR 17, WR 18, WR 19 A, WR 19 B, WR 46, WR 58, WR 104 A, WR 104 B, WR 119, WR 121-16, WR 124, WR 128, WR 129, WR 142 and WR 144. It's just a .stc file this time, located inside the .zip file.

Alright, now I finally have the statistics to make the Apep system. The stars are done (with separate textures), now I need to figure out how to make this nebula.

Apep

Post #18by Trolligi 112477 » 02.06.2021, 20:17

Finally, after over 9 months, I made an addon for Apep. It's a trinary system composed of a central Wolf-Rayet star binary (WC7d+WN4b), orbited by an outer B type supergiant. Well, actually the WR binary technically orbits the B supergiant, considering that the two WRs combined are almost certainly less massive than the blue supergiant.

One of the central WRs (the WC component) rotates very rapidly and produces a lot of dust as it interacts with its WN companion.

The 3 stars created this very intricate and complex pinwheel nebula around them. It's really cool. I just used a billboard to represent it

OAO 1657-415

Post #19by Trolligi 112477 » 04.06.2021, 08:39

This is OAO 1657-415, a high-mass X-ray binary between a neutron star of 1.42 solar masses and an Ofpe/WN9 star of 14.3 solar masses. It is located over 23,000 light years away in the constellation of Scorpius.

This addon took no time to make, lol.

what even is a high-mass X-ray binary?
what makes it different from a ordinary binary system that has 2 high mass stars?
