HD Earth

I have made my second addon, HD Earth!

This addon gives Earth a 12K spec map and 12K texture

There is also the Ecological Nightmare Earth version, this comes with 12K Earth as well as many city lights. ENE (Ecological Nightmare Earth) version is still WIP, so the only places with many city lights are Alaska, Canada, USA, Greenland, Iceland, and Australia

Enjoy! :smile:

ye. I kinda dunno why I made this, but nice if you wanna see the true beauty of our homeworld, some beautiful spots (imo) are that orange area of the Horn of Africa, and the Australian desert

Added after 38 seconds:
at least somewhat beautiful, true beauty can't be seen in 2D I suppose

Added after 3 hours 31 minutes:
So apparently the names of the .zip files are flipped, i.e. "HD Earth.zip" has the edited night side texture, while "HD Earth+Ecological Nightmare Earth.zip" has the normal one.

So here's the fixed version! :D :smile:

I hope this is fixed, if not then something might be happening when I zip the folder.

I compared this new addon with mine (10K) and I saw an error near north pole. :eek:

Go to Greenland at night and cut off the clouds (i).

You can see Greenland with lights like at New York City or Europa ??? :fie:

At this moment, I prefer my night texture. :wink:

It's called the "Ecological Nightmare Earth" for a reason...

I intentionally gave Greenland many lights, not a bug

torisan, addons need to go in the "extras" folder.

Yes, extract the zip folder and move the extracted folder to C:\Users\[User name]\AppData (It is a hidden folder, if you don't find it, follow the instructions below this text)\Local\Celestia\extras

================
HOW TO GET TO APPDATA
================
Press Windows key+R (This opens Run)
Type %appdata% into the text box
Press OK
That's it! Now navigate to Local, then Celestia, then extras

No, actually it's right in "Celestia/extras", wherever you installed Celestia (in torisan's case, "C:/Program Files (x86)/Celestia").

I have made an update to the ENE version.
Africa and South America now have many lights! There are areas where there are no city lights or not many, that is because they are major rainforests/forests, we need to keep those.

Also the city lights look strange in some areas, that's Paint.net being weird.
