Lafuente_Astronomy wrote:Well, If I remember. Your link in the post with the object's name in link here redirected me to the pictures, but not to where to download it. While you had your intentions, it may be confusing to some people, as I was confused where to go and what you meant by "first post", like "His first post here, or his first post in his addons topic?". Hence, I'm asking for more clarity in your words next time

Oh, I thought you meant I should be more clear where the pictures were, which didn't make sense.

Lafuente_Astronomy wrote:It's easy to solve that limit. Simply put any future links in your latest post. That way, there could be enough space for future links on that second post, etc. Or rather, you can just post your latest addons on the latest posts like the rest of us do. Not sure if there are any limits to the number of posts we can make in a topic but if "Spacecrafts From Celestia", the topic with the most posts, can still be posted on, then I guess it's ok to do just that. Just a suggestion

I want to put all the download links near the beginning of the thread so that people don't have to go through all the posts to find my addons; they're all right there. This is one thing that annoys me about threads like "Spacecrafts from Celestia". But you're right, I should put download links for new addons in the post announcing the addon as well. I did that for the Gaia white dwarfs, and will do it for all future addons.

Yeah, that's the unfortunate limits of the Forum, aside from only using 10 keywords in search. That should be increased to as many as possible. But hey, at least it handles all big data, something the Discord server could never do

Seems I haven't posted anything here in a while. Anyway, here's an addon for the Alpha Centauri system that I've had for a long time now, that I've updated with the latest data: Alpha Centauri.zip

Proxima's planets were previously in the "exoplanet updates" addon, and I had posted pictures of them here in the picture thread.

I've updated a few of my addons. The exoplanet and brown dwarf addons are the ones that really need updates, but I also need to update Celestia's default data for 1.6.2...

ViDiBa-celx.zip, randomstars.zip - some updates and fixes

Haumea_Snowfall.zip - the addon now adds Snowfall's textures for Haumea itself as well, for people who don't have Celestia Origin

New addon with assorted extragalactic objects (including M33 X-7, which I had previously released): extragalactic_stars_extras.zip

Some pictures:

Brown dwarf addon updated to match its current state on my end; there are a few updates, mostly rogue planets: browndwarfs.zip

Added after 3 days 5 hours:
Kepler-1649 released, see the first post or here: Kepler-1649.zip

Added after 2 days 19 hours:
The nearby exoplanets addon (see link above) has been updated with new textures.

Added after 5 hours 47 minutes:
Exoplanet_Updates.zip - Pi Mensae updated, planets that are also in "NearbyExoplanets" and would otherwise be duplicated removed

Just updated NearbyExoplanets.zip again; among other things, Proxima's orbit has been added back and the planets of Teegarden's Star have textures.

Added after 17 days 22 hours:
More textures added to the nearby exoplanets addon - all confirmed exoplanets within 5 parsecs/16.3 light-years have now been textured (though not all by me).

Several new/updated addons: (all links added to OP)

More exoplanet textures: NearbyExoplanets.zip (updated again); LHS 1140.zip

Updated location files (incomplete, includes old ceres_locs.ssc): locations.zip

Improved version of the OA wormhole addon, with a script: wormhole.zip (this was actually released some time ago, but only mentioned on Discord)

I also have a half-finished update to the ATNF pulsars addon that I should finish and release...

Lots of skipped pulsars & errors

Post #56by Endeavor35 » 06.01.2021, 02:44

Had to reinstall Celestia today as it was getting really laggy for some reason. When I added back your pulsar planets & extragalactic stars addons, I noticed that nothing for the extragalactic stars addon could be found, even though it was a simple copy & paste to the extras folder. As well as that a substantial amount of pulsars were being skipped for some reason. Double checked to make sure that I had LukeCEL's extragalactic star add on and I did indeed have it in Celestia. Also, since I had to reinstall all of Celestia, all of the add ons I originally had were removed. So as of now, these two along with a couple of extra spacecraft add ons are pretty much the only things I have added to the extras folder. I will also add that I did see a similar error show up relating to something known as 'Jets.' Though I have yet to see that again as of this time.

Any idea why this might be happening?

Hi Endeavor35,

It seems that Celestia can't find the proper parent bodies. The first thing I would do is to check that the files m_32.stc and andromeda_galaxy.stc are there - the latest versions can be downloaded here and here, respectively.

I also see that you're using macOS - unfortunately macOS doesn't have a sensible loading order for add-ons in the "extras" folder, so it may be possible that even if you have these files, they are being loaded after SevenSpheres' add-on. I believe there are a few workarounds, such as copy-pasting the .stc code so it is all in one .stc file.

Best,
LukeCEL

Finally got around to releasing my Lua version of LukeCEL's elliptical galaxy database: Realistic_Elliptical_Galaxies.zip. Also, randomstars.zip has been updated with a new WO star, for a total of 10 - thanks to Trolligi for finding it!

You can thank Extrasolarplanets for that. I may or may not add the Kepler-62f texture to ExoplanetUpdates at some point; the other two aren't really usable since they have clouds attached.
