Just so you know about though, no releases will be done until Ulrich gets back from vacation.
Should be another week or so. Just FYI...
Thanks, Brain-Dead

More, the spec of spacedock gives :
Diameter : 3,810 m
Height (main) : 4,648 m
Height (overall) : 5,795 m1
Decks : 1,200
Such values sounds a quite small, respect to the ships. But I'm not an expert. How large is a Galaxy class?

You put a radius equal to 2.57, is it OK ?
There are no exact dimensions given for spacedock. The only thing ever said about it in regards to size is that it was about 3 miles or more in height. Any chart or site you find giving exact measurements are just guesses. The size I chose fits in comparison to the ships inside the dock and is close enough to the size mentioned by Mike Okuda. The ships in the dock are separate models and not part of the spacedock mesh and as far as I know their sizes are correct. If I make the dock bigger or smaller the size of the ships would not look right in comparison.
Earth Spacedock was designed by David Carson and Nilo Rodis and first seen in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. The model was built at Industrial Light & Magic. It has been suggested, by Mike Okuda among others, that the spacedock facility was over three miles in height, which gives it the ability to house many different starships in its hull. http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Earth_Spacedock#BackgroundThe dock in my addon is 5.14 km in height which is about 3.2 miles. That fits right in with what Okuda said

The Enterprise D is too big to fit in the dock. There was an episode where you saw it enter the dock but that was over the objections of the senior illustrators of Next Generation.
Here is an interesting article about it.

If a ship is just 300 meter of diameter, the "deck", which I suppose (whether I'm not wrong) that is the "mushroom's hat"'s structure, is covered in diameter by only 4 ships: 1200/4 = 300 m. This doesn't seem proportionate.

I think the mushroom hat is much bigger than that.

In that case the spacedock will fit in your ship.

I agree. Good work, Reiko
I would supplementarily like to add; I don't like (too much) SF-stuff in "
my" Celestia. But I do not dislike Science fiction. I like Star Trek as well (Kirk, Picard. Others I don't know) because these movie series are transporting a good message of humanity, IMHO....
Or Kubrik's 2001 (written by Arthur C. Clarke). Nearly fifty year old movie but one of the bests (for me). Or the books of Philip Kendrick Dick... simply fantastic.
So, once again, Thanks for this special feature for Celestia

Out of curiosity, how much would we have to upscale the space dock to match the TNG proportions and allow the Galaxy class to fit as shown?

As long as that values will be hold as radii, not diameters.

It would have to be about 2.5 times bigger, I'm guessing.
