Figured I should upload my Ran (Epsilon Eridani) system addon soon as well. I'll probably reupload this addon again soon, whenever TTarrants' Exoplanets addon for April drops, given that it contains an update to Ægir's orbital parameters (as well as mass).

Ran is a young (~400-800 Myr), nearby (3.220 parsecs / 10.50 light-years) K2 V star with three debris disks, one confirmed planet known as Ægir (Epsilon Eridani b) orbiting at ~3.73 AU, one speculated planet inferred from the morphology of the disk orbiting at ~47.8 AU, and one question mark-raising RV trend that would indicate a close-in small inner planet orbiting with a period of ~80 days if it is really caused by a planet (which it probably isn't).

In this addon I have remade the former two. Both the confirmed gas giant planet Ægir and the disk morphology giant planet Epsilon Eridani c are interpreted to be gas giant worlds heavily warmed up by internal heating, in the latter case permitting an ammonia cloud layer to form in what would otherwise be a frigid, clarified atmosphere not dissimilar to Uranus or Neptune. They are larger than their mass would suggest; due to their youth, they had not yet have time to contract much yet. This also give them somewhat slower rotation periods compared to Jupiter and Saturn. Both are shrouded in haze, a very common feature among temperate and cold planets, giving them appearances that highly resemble Jupiter and Saturn respectively. Both worlds are depicted to possess substantial ring systems, with Ægir possessing a more aged, thinned out set of rings that is nevertheless still somewhat easy to see, and Epsilon Eridani c having a denser and more Saturn-like ring system.

Note that Epsilon Eridani c only appears if your Celestia install contains unconfirmed planets.

Not included is a thin debris disk in the system, due to a serious lack of information.

It's back and it's better than ever!
Your eyes do not deceive you! I have remade my NGTS-12 addon almost from the ground up and based the texture on what we currently know about the nature of Hot Jupiters, and this is the result! I hope you enjoy this addon reboot!

NGTS-12
An inflated world around an aging star
ngts12b.png
NGTS-12 b and a beautiful background of stars

NGTS-12 b is a sub-Saturn mass Hot Jupiter orbiting the slightly evolved G4V star NGTS-12. The planet has an orbital period of seven and a half days, which, at the time of its discovery, made it the longest period planet discovered by the main NGTS survey. It was later beaten by NGTS-19b and NGTS-20b. I say that it is "inflated" because it has a size slightly larger than that of Jupiter, but less than that of Saturn, meaning it has a low density and is thus "inflated". NGTS-12 b might be nearing the end of its lifetime, as its star may be beginning to transit into the subgiant phase, meaning that the planet could soon be engulfed by its parent star.

Please note that this addon requires Thomas Tarrants' Exoplanet Catalogue to work

47 Ursae Majoris Legacy
A classic system of three gas giants
47 uma sisyphus (no text).png
47 UMa and its planets
47 uma sisyphus (no text).png (14.58 KiB) Viewed 170534 times

This is an old version of the addon. The remaster can be downloaded here

47 Ursae Majoris, formally named Chalawan, is a yellow dwarf about 46 light-years from Earth. It is orbited by three gas giant planets, 47 UMa b, formally named Taphao Thong, 47 UMa c, formally named Taphao Kaew, and 47 UMa d, which has no formal name. They're not a particularly interesting group of gas giants, c and d are basically Saturn and Jupiter and b is a Class II with some white clouds but otherwise basically just Jupiter. But c and d's orbits are slightly eccentric, and they're all a little bit bigger than Jupiter, which I guess is a bit interesting. And hey, when was the last time a gas giant was original anyway?

Actually I've made a few more of those, some of which have been released in my Nearby Exoplanets addon. I'd been planning to reboot it as its own thread with a separate download for each system. (Also, those two WISE systems are binary brown dwarfs!)

Edit: Nearby Exoplanets thread is now here.
