jujuapapa... Lolz... I don't think that you know much about how the spacecrafts works or about space flights... I am sure even... in the picture you posted, as and all spacecrafts in Celestia or Orbiter... or animation at TV... is just an artist-concepts... Learn to understand the main thing in Celestia...

AND... I telling you again,,, NO ONE HERE don't forces you to use the models or something else that you can't understand...

Toutatis,

Luna 1,2,3,9,10 no favorable response from Norad Archives

But maybe one day, we will find an archive on the web that will provide us with elements. Can you keep these models for the future?

Hmm, why not take the orbital elements already given on those addons by accessing them to Orbiter directly? (Just a suggestion)

The addons I'm referring to were Orbiter's Vostok_Luna.v1.0.zip and Molniya.v1.0.zip
"Open the pod-bay doors HAL"
"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that"

@Toutatis, you are a little fun. :(

Your model is a joke of realism !

One thing is sure, I do not download this ..., do not dare this model because I found better elsewhere ... :)

thanks for DaveBowman2001's suggestion.

If anyone knows Orbiter well and is able to edit the orbital parameters, it would be cool to communicate them to the community.

Gironde... I will try to find the data... even if it in secret archives of Roscosmos or NASA...

Thank for congratulations, Toutatis.
Yesterday was an evening of madness in France and today all day in Paris.
20 years after their elders.

DaveBowman2001 is right there are some parameters in the Orbit Hangar addon but it's hard to know exactly what they are.

In any case, thank you for interessing with my proposal.

Well, the parameters in every Orbiter addon featuring spacecraft IN SPACE will only show its relative position and velocity to its orbiting celestial body (as shown in its .SCN files when you access it through WordPad or NotePad)

For Example, in Shuttle.scn:
STS-101: Atlantis
STATUS: Orbiting Earth
RPOS: 2366788.99 316789.0975 9754.9
RVEL: 6432.8764 5327.9765 6428.99
(and so on so forth)

It shows its Relative Position/Velocity (RPOS and RVEL) in regards with its parent body (Earth) in XYZ coordinates. Well admittedly, even I have extreme difficulty understanding it.

The good news is when you open up Orbiter and activated the scenario file there (.SCN) it translates those parameters into as simple as what Celestia understands as EllipticalOrbit parameters

Just open Orbiter, find the .scn file you want you play and when it loads, press F1 to cockpit mode OR before proceeding with the above statement, make sure you activate ScenarioEditor on the ModulesTab.

Orbiter can be downloaded here

100830 (2010 Version, 135 Mb) = orbithangar.com

OR

160828 (2016 Version, 2.6 GB) = orbit.medphys.ucl.uc.uk/download.html

"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that"

Well, gironde I have good news and bad news:

Good news is, Orbiter automatically translates and simulate them once the scenario file is loaded in the app. I'm also an Orbiter player and I can code the results into .SSC's EllipticalOrbit parameters

The bad news is, ever since my computer's been reformatted, for whatever reason it is, I can no longer open up Orbiter properly

Thank, DaveBowman2001, for this.

For your computer, I'm sorry. If we can help you, do not hesitate to ask us. Would not it be a question of system updates. If you are on Windows with an old version (XP, Vista, ..), and maybe Windows no longer offers the updates that Orbiter needs?

Thank you gironde

Well, actually Dr. Martin Schweiger programmed Orbiter to work on any version of Windows a PC would like from XP to 10, yet for unknown reasons it didn't work on mine anymore...ever. Celestia works fine on the other hand    . It's a bummer cause Orbiter is what I've used to simulate the orbits of Viking, Luna, Soviet Mars, Lunar Orbiter etc. into Celestia (it didn't survive reformatting though).

BTW, I've got one question: How do you attach pictures, files, or links while messaging in this forum?? Thanks

And...

Toutatis I appreciate your work on the Orbiter models you're converting and making for Celestia. Great job!

to attach images or files on the forum, you must pass your message in "Full editor & preview" mode
then to attach the file: tab "attachments / add files"

the images can be directly in .jpg

the other files must be compressed in .zip for example or .7z

:hi:

Added after 7 minutes 25 seconds:
DaveBowman2001,

check for updates made by Windows update after your reformatting

(programs around Windows like .net Java for example and others that could use Orbiter and that Windows has not yet updated)

If you are left with a basic system, the updates are very long to set up.

I think .png works just fine as well.
