looks like a comet with that low albedo surface

just a little tip: if you want to modify a planet, like adding auroras in this case, you can put "Modify" at the beginning of the code. you do not need to completely rewrite the code of the object, you only need to add the code that specifies what you want to add to the object. if you want to add rings to a planet for example, you do not need to completely rewrite all the code and add a "Rings" element, you just write the "Rings" element into the "Modify" code and nothing else. see the image attached

NEW ADDON

Enus, a fictional dwarf planet in the middle of the asteroid belt. It is 1600 km in diameter and has a reddish surface. It has two tiny moons.

Sorry, but it will not be possible to create the 200 moons for Straerus. It really is quite problematic, especially regarding the orbital parameters. Soon I will launch the addon, it will have 15 initial moons. Maybe later I'll add more moons.

NEW ADDON

Finally, here is Straerus, a giant planet in the Oort Cloud. I was even able to anticipate the addon's release. With only 15 moons, I was able to make better general parameters (orbitals, size, etc). All moons are irregular, comets captured by the planet. Straerus is 0.40 ly away from the Sun and an orbital period of 5.45 million years. Straerus doesn't have auroras, it's too far from the heliosphere for that.

I created a separate addon, a fictional solar sail in Straerus orbit. Due to the great distance from the Sun, probably due to a Celestia bug, the solar sail is a little flickering. To find the solar sail, search: Straerus Solar Sail

The 3D model of the solar sail is from Gaia Sky, prepared for Celestia by SevenSpheres.

Next week, I will produce a lot of addons. If you want, you can give me suggestions.

you should make more moons and submoons, and also maybe make more planets. perhaps a habitable earth trojan with rings or many moons, or both? maybe even give it city lights! i can supply a city light texture for you, but you will need to give me the planet's texture first. maybe you could also give mars a major moon, and definitely make some titan-like moons. the solar system needs more titans!

Good ideas! The habitable planet would be will an Earth Trojan. As for the texture, I still have to decide, as there are several.

Next week there are submoons planned for Callisto, Titania, Oberon and Triton.

Ronsaal

Post #60by SpaceExplorer » 18.05.2022, 13:01

Here is the biggest addon I created here. A habitable planet, Trojan from Earth: Ronsaal It is a super-Earth, with extensive rings and three moons around it.
A planet that has an advanced alien civilization.
The planet has very colorful auroras.

Credits to some developers, their material allowed the creation of this:

- Most important credit goes to TheLostProbe, who created the night map for the planet, exclusively for this addon. Thank you very much!

- Planet's orbital parameters are based on Anthony_B_Russo10's Theia addon, for a stable orbit for at least a few thousand years.

- The planet's main texture is by kvikki, found on DeviantArt.

- Texture used on the first moon is by John Van Vliet.

- Texture used on the second moon was found in Solar System Scope.

NOTE: All these textures (except the night map, which was already fully ready) were changed by me. Color changes, more saturation, more exposure, etc. I worked these parameters very carefully so that it was "perfect" for this addon.

Below a series of images and download of the addon:
