Hi Toutatis and Gironde. In order to obtain maximum from the launch vehicles you already added and/or will add to Celestia, if I can I suggest you to try to add Launch locations, as you have done with the Proton-M model.
I see that in "Orbiter addons" there are practically all the launch complexes used worlwide.
Just for an example, here is the Delta IV Launch Complex 37
- Launch Complex 37
https://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=1306or Shuttle's LC39A+B Launch Pads
- Launch Pad 39A-39B
https://www.orbithangar.com/addonpics/LC39A_Shuttlefleet.jpgOK, this is a huge (82.43 MB) model, but it looks like the real thing, doesn't it?
I think this could be a real challenge for anyone, anyway....
I know nothing about 3D modelling, so I don't know if this is possible or if it's a too complex and difficult task, but I hope it could be done by you...
Thank you for all your work, appreciated.
Bye
Goofy

Hi,
Great work for space probes.
Sorry, but I dont' see the interest to make rockets which never go into space... with celestia

Goofy,
All the files found on this kind of site are not necessarily usable. There is a lot of 3D format and not all 3D software is able to import them. On 3D Warehouse there are Sketchup, Colloda, KMZ Google files, ... on Orbiter they are .msh files. Apart from .dae (Colloda) which is importable into Blender, the others I do not know how to do.

And yes, it's a shame! But we must be passing, we will find.

Hi Goofy... Yes, it's possible... I can convert all .msh files from "Orbiter" to 3ds files which are supported in Celestia... but need to combine separated parts of models and make texturing them to create a ready model for Celestia... so just need a time and desire to work... See... I made Delta-4Heavy.. Titan-4B... Hayabusa-2 ... Formosat-5 from the separated files I taken from "Orbiter"...
Added after 6 minutes 33 seconds:and I do not use Blender... Wings 3D and converters only...

Ow...
Then I have it...
Added after 6 minutes 50 seconds:In my Celestia 5000 asteroids... but I still did not visited each of them...
Added after 17 minutes 31 seconds:Now we need a sampled orbit for Ryugu... because of Hayabusa-2

New Swift Observatory model...

Hi Toutatis.
Thank you for your positive reply about my request for Launch pads from Orbiter, and I believe it's not an easy task, but if I can help you with textures (sorry, I'm unable to help in modelling), I'm here.
Bye.

New Swift Observatory model...
I do not have confidence that the updated model corresponds to the original.
I did not see the original ...

I do not have confidence that the updated model corresponds to the original.
Well, there are many options...

I'm working on:
Ares V
Atlas V 51
Atlas SLV-3 Agena-D
Atlas LV3B (Mercury-Atlas 6 Friendship 7)
Mercury-Redstone MR3
I set the orientation before uploading

As I can not straighten rockets, I still submit the addons. Maybe someone will arrive at something acceptable.
I think there should be a landmark well positioned on the ground with a horizontal and a vertical surface.
The orientation function only works on one axis and I do not think we can put the function twice with a different axis.

Here is the Kaguya (Selene) satellite launched by Japan on 14-09-2007 with a H-IIA 2022 F13 rocket towards the Moon. For 2 years he flew over the Moon and crashed on 10-06-2009 at 18:25 at E80.4, S65.5.
The ssc file describes its main orbit around the moon. On 01-02-2009 the orbit has been lowered to 50km.
Kaguya was carrying 2 other satellites: OKINA relay satellite and VRAD satellite. They were dropped at the beginning of lunar insertion. Okina served as relay to the Kaguya transmission.

Deep Space Climate Observatory
Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR; formerly known as Triana, unofficially known as GoreSat) is a NOAA space weather and Earth observation satellite. It was launched by SpaceX on a Falcon 9 launch vehicle on February 11, 2015, from Cape Canaveral
