HIP 41378Now with accurately modeled rings!HIP 41378, also known as K2-93, is an F-type star about 346 light-years away in the constellation Cancer. It hosts a system of five transiting planets discovered in 2016, and likely a sixth, non-transiting, planet. The outermost planet, HIP 41378 f, appears unusually large given its mass. While this may just indicate a very low density, it could also be evidence of a ring system, as depicted in this addon.
I originally included a ringed HIP 41378 f in my old "Exoplanet Updates" addon in 2019, shortly after the ring hypothesis was first proposed. The textures used were created by fyr02 as generic textures. More recently, an addon texturing all six planets by 星颜Crazy was
posted to the Celestia forum; these textures are used in this addon, with the old texture for planet f as an alternate surface. I've recolored the textures for planets e & g to be somewhat more realistic. The old ring texture is still used since no other custom texture has been released; while it appears to be a modified Saturn ring texture, its dark color is realistic given that this planet's temperature makes it more likely to have rocky rings, rather than icy rings like Saturn.

"This one should come as no surprise, we have 5 combatants in this battle!" -
Nemesis BloodrycheYep Nem, we indeed have 5 different
fighters planetary systems in this
battle addon!
They are
Gaia14aaea,
MOA-2010-BLG-477L,
SDSS J122859.93+104032.9b,
WD 0806-661, and
WD J0914+1914.
The disk radii for Gaia14aae and WD J0914+1914 come from
Green et al. 2018 and
Gansicke et al. 2019 respectively, and the mesh came from
Visionc's black hole addons.
a - B was later "promoted" to a brown dwarf, also per Green et al. 2018.
b - b is an exoasteroid, the only one known besides
HD 240779 b.c - Models were derived from Cham.
Update Nov. 8th: Fixed exoasteroid mesh and remade Gaia14aae textures.

Ross 508Recycle!Ross 508, also known as Gliese 585, is a red dwarf star 36.6 light-years away in the constellation Serpens. It hosts one known planet, a super-Earth on an eccentric orbit near the inner edge of the habitable zone, discovered in 2022. It's depicted here as a volatile-rich ocean world.
Like
previously, I've reused a texture originally made for Gliese 832 c, a planet candidate which
more recent research has shown likely doesn't exist. A new version of the Gliese 832 addon including only the confirmed planet b is now included in
Nearby Exoplanets, as well.
