Populating WLM (and other galaxies) with REAL stars

Post #21by Joey P. » 06.12.2018, 19:10

How can I send the full version of my Celestia (including the application) into a .zip file that can be hosted here? Thanks.

STC Code for the brown dwarf 2M1207. I might do the exoplanet soon.

Code: Select all

"2M1207:2M1207A:2MASS J12073346-3932539"
{
     RA 181.8894583
     Dec  -39.5483333
     Distance 172
     SpectralType "M8p"
     AppMag 20.15
     Radius 173875
     InfoURL "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2M1207"
}
If you see that I made a dumb or nonsensical post years ago, please forgive me in advance.

Populating WLM (and other galaxies) with REAL stars

Post #23by Lafuente_Astronomy » 10.05.2019, 20:37

Hello everyone!

With gironde's blessing, I've decided to bring back this post and turn it into an announcement post because this post will function very much like toutatis' "Spacecrafts for Celestia" post, except this post will only deal with addons related to what's stated in the title

From now on, anyone who has an addon to share related to Extrasolar, Stars and Exoplanets, share it here, so that it'll be easier for one to search for older addons than just scrolling old posts, and also makes a unified post with many addons to choose from.

Bon Voyage

Hi, I know I'm a bit late, but also very confused. I certainly remember a "Extrasolar, Stars and Exoplanets for Celestia" thread started by gironde. What happened to that thread?

I believe it was merged into this thread with the "Populating WLM (and other galaxies) with REAL stars" thread.

I understand that. But these two threads are completely separate, so why was that one not turned into an announcement by itself? Why the merge?

The merge was because I am currently merging some of the previous addons threads about Extrasolar, Stars and Exoplanets in Celestia, in an attempt to unify those addons so that anyone who wants to look for them need not go further and backwards in time, since several good addons may have been lost or "buried", so to speak. It just so happened that your first post is older than gironde's original post, which was the basis for the original post CM1215 mentioned.

Regardless, I'll just make a new official addon post related to any extrasolar but not extragalactic objects, and then hope for the best.

Update: As some of you have seen, I've merged this with LukeCEL's post earlier today, because I was attempting to merge posts related to the addons topic at hand into a singular post wherein all addons related to the topic of said post would be placed in. As it turns out, it was a very bad move, so as the moderator who did the act, I sincerely. apologize for my actions.

That being said, I recommend posting your addons related to the title of the topic here, because I don't want any older addons that are made in their own individual posts to be "buried" in heaps of more recent addon posts. With this single post, it can be ensured that older posts can still be viewed and downloaded since there's a singular place for them that makes it easier to search for and download them.

I hope you understand and forgive me for all those actions I did today

I already posted this in the Solar System Addons section, but I though it more appropriate to post them here:

nice achievement

But, as it is about exoplanets, you must assign them the class "planet"

Code: Select all

"Kepler-186 b" "Kepler-186"
{
   Class "planet"

   Texture "k186b.*"
   BumpMap "k186bbump.*"
   BumpHeight 10
   Radius     6880.68
   EllipticalOrbit
...
