Microlensing rogue planets

This is a catalog of all candidate rogue planets discovered by gravitational microlensing, as of 2023. Note that this detection method is unable to confirm that these objects are free-floating, just set a lower limit on the distance from a star, so it's possible that some of them are actually in wide orbits around stars. Also note that the parameters for these objects, particularly distances, are highly uncertain. In many cases I've just arbitrarily set a distance of 10,000 light-years. By default these objects will appear completely dark (which is likely their true appearance in visible light); turn up ambient light to see the textures.

Also included are two microlensing planet hosts that, depending on highly uncertain parameters, may or may not themselves be planetary-mass. If they are, they could be considered rogue planets with moons. They're defined with "(planetary)" at the end of their names, so they shouldn't cause any conflict with Sirius_Alpha's exoplanet catalog, which uses the models with stellar-mass hosts.

The textures used were created by Chara (EarthSolar) and Steve Bowers.

This is basically a remake of a catalog of rogue planets (many of them from microlensing) that was included in an old, unfinished brown dwarf catalog I made. Use it for whatever, please do make custom textures for these worlds if you want!

Gliese 777

Gliese 777, also known as HD 190360, is a binary system consisting of a G-type (yellow) subgiant and an M (red) dwarf, located 52 light-years away in the constellation of Cygnus. Two planets have been confirmed around the primary star: b is remarkable for being one of the most Jupiter-like planets known when it was announced in 2003, although it has a quite eccentric orbit, which takes it from 2.6 to 5.2 au around its star; and c, in a close 17-day orbit, is also notable for being of the first hot Neptunes discovered (2005). There might also be a third planet, although it's possibly an artifact of the radial-velocity data.

CFBDSIR 2149-0403
The first lonely world discovered

CFBDSIR 2149-0403 is a floating planetary-mass object and possible rogue planet. It is located in the constellation Aquarius, with best estimates indicating that it is about 130 light-years away from Earth. It was discovered in 2012 by the Canada-France Brown Dwarfs Survey, and confirmed by WISE data. It is estimated to have between 4 and 7 Jupiter masses.

STC file from the old Brown Dwarfs addon by SevenSpheres and Zemlyanin, and the texture is by Gurren Lagann.

UPDATE July 3, 2023: The planet was defined with stc code only, which is more suitable for objects with known spectral classes.

PSO J318.5−22
A "hot" rogue planet

PSO J318.5−22 is a rogue planet located approximately 80 light-years away from Earth and belongs to the moving group Beta Pictoris. It was discovered in 2013 by the Pan-STARRS project. The planet has an estimated temperature of 1,100 K in its atmosphere, and is estimated to have 6.5 Jupiter masses.

STC and SSC files from the old Brown Dwarfs addon by SevenSpheres and Zemlyanin, and the texture is by Gurren Lagann.

NOTE: When searching for the name and going to the planet, you must zoom in to see it more closely.

PSO J318.5-22

Apparently Gurren isn't going to release an addon for this himself, so I've remade another rogue planet from my old addon! Compared to SpaceExplorer's addon, which as far as I know is still using the old stc/ssc code, this version has updated parameters (instead of just taking them from Wikipedia) and defines the object in an stc file instead of using the barycenter hack, since it's a directly imaged object with a known spectral type that's hot enough to glow. Again, the texture is by Gurren Lagann.

Note: Just because an object has a spectral type and is defined in an stc file doesn't mean you have to consider it a brown dwarf. Many directly imaged star-orbiting planets have spectral types, and many other planetary-mass objects (both free-floating and occasionally star-orbiting) have been defined in stc files in previously released addons.

PSO J318.5-22 is a free-floating planetary mass object, about 8 times the mass of Jupiter, located about 72 light-years away in the Beta Pictoris moving group. It is estimated to have a temperature of about 1100 Kelvin and a rotation period of 8.3 hours. This object was discovered in 2013 by the Pan-STARRS project, and has been described as an analogue of similarly young planets orbiting stars, such as Beta Pictoris b.
