Kepler-12
Anyone else getting déjà vu?
k12b.jpg
Kepler-12b with the majestic Milky Way

Kepler-12 is a G0 type star located nearly 3000 ly from Earth which is nearing the end of the main sequence and is soon to become a Red Giant, similar to NGTS-12 which is a Subgiant star on its way to Giant status. Kepler-12b is a roughly Saturn-mass Hot Jupiter, similar to NGTS-12b, orbiting once every 4.5 days. Something feels familiar...

The two suns of Kepler-14 Ab

Kepler-14 is a wide binary star system 3200 ly from Earth, both components being larger than the Sun, with masses of 1.51 M☉ for Kepler-14 A and 1.39 M☉ for Kepler-14 B. Only one planet has been discovered in the system, and it orbits Kepler-14 A once every 6.8 days. Kepler-14 Ab is slightly larger than Jupiter, but far more massive, with a mass of 8.4 MJup. This makes it an extremely dense planet, at 7.1 g/cm^3. This addon depicts it as a Hyperpyroazurian, with a deep blue colour.

Kepler-17b and the beautiful Milky Way

Kepler-17 is a very active Sun-like G2V star, with long-lived starspots covering about 6% of its surface. In 2011, a Hot Superjovian was discovered orbiting considerably close to the star, with an orbital period of 1.5 days. Kepler-17b is 1.3 times the size of Jupiter, and 2.5 times as massive.

16 Cygni

16 Cygni is a triple star system, with a Jovian planet in a highly eccentric orbit around star B. This planet was discovered in 1996, making it one of the earliest exoplanet discoveries. Interestingly, it was the first exoplanet to have its discovery paper posted to arXiv.

K2-18
A Hot Neptune and an Ocean Planet
Untitled.jpg
The planets of K2-18 to scale

K2-18 is a red dwarf about 124.16 light-years away in the constellation Leo. It has two planets, one a mini-Neptune, and the other a suspected ocean planet classified as a potentially habitable world, however recent studies showed it is too massive and should be considered a mini-neptune rather than a superterran planet, therefore highly unlikely to support any form of life

The sub-Neptune known as NGTS-4 b

NGTS-4, also known as TOI-1926, is a K-type main-sequence star about 922.39 light-years away in the constellation Columba. Its sole planet is a sub-Neptune about 20.6 times the mass of Earth orbiting about once every 1.34 days, which is quite rare for a planet that size to be found that close to its parent star
